About This Role

The Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2 (Investigator) provides personal support services and crisis intervention to clients, and may serve as a case manager. This role involves evaluating, investigating, and resolving complaints, and acting as a liaison between clients and service providers. This position is assigned to the Gordon County office but will primarily serve customers in Whitfield County, Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial investigations of protective service reports for cases meeting Adult Protective Services (APS) criteria and determine appropriateness of intervention within a standard of promptness.
  • Evaluate the level of risk to clients and take appropriate action to ensure safety.
  • Provide follow-up, consultations and other applicable resources to stabilize situations to prevent further recurrence of Abuse/Neglect/Exploitation.
  • Initiate the legal process for guardianship as a last resort for the protection of incapacitated adults.
  • Maintain required documentation and complete reports within standards of promptness.
  • Maintain knowledge of current policies, laws, trends and developments in the field by attending training sessions and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 1 year experience as Adult Protective Services Case Manager 1
  • Customer service experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
  • One (1) year of experience at the lower level Adult Protective Services Case Manager 1 or position equivalent.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with specific client populations (family violence, crisis intervention, substance abuse, elderly or disabled)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services program
  • Valid driver’s license and consistent access to a vehicle for work-related activities
