About This Role

This role involves independently managing clerical processes, coordinating office activities, and providing administrative support within the TCC Personnel Office of the Missouri Department of Corrections. The position requires frequent decision-making based on agency policies and the ability to supervise and train staff on administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a significant phase/segment of a clerical process or office activity with relative independence
  • Make frequent decisions in accordance with agency policies, rules, and procedures
  • Maintain calendars and schedules; coordinate meeting logistics; arrange travel and accommodations
  • Type and edit various materials, including technical or specialized terminology
  • Compose correspondence, applying established policies and procedures
  • Attend meetings, take notes, and transcribe written and verbal communication
  • Supervise and train staff performing clerical and other support tasks, including planning assignments and organizing workflow
  • Review work for accuracy, timeliness, and conformance with procedures; mentor and advise staff
  • Maintain fiscal records requiring limited knowledge of governmental accounting methods
  • Prepare, process, and oversee personnel, payroll, and time/leave records
  • Obtain quotes/bids for commodities, equipment, and services; process supply requisitions and purchase orders

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience as an Administrative Support Clerk (OSA) with Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System OR 3+ years experience in office support work
  • High school diploma or proof of high school equivalency

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or proof of high school equivalency
  • Two or more years of experience as an Administrative Support Clerk (OSA) with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; OR three or more years of experience in office support work
