Adjunct Political Science Faculty

About This Role

Provide high-quality instruction in Political Science based on catalog descriptions and approved syllabi, facilitate student learning, and evaluate student progress. This role may require teaching dual enrollment classes and traveling to multiple campuses.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with catalog descriptions and approved syllabi
• Teach dual enrollment classes at area high schools as assigned
• Travel to multiple campuses as assigned
• Collaborate with faculty, Department Lead, and curriculum chair on curricular and programmatic issues
• Collaborate with faculty, administration, and staff to support college students, strategic plans, goals, and business operations
• Stay abreast of current developments in the teaching discipline, including scholarship, creative research, and cutting-edge teaching approaches
• Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester
• Maintain availability for meetings with students and colleagues
• Respond promptly to Dean's requests
• Submit all requested paperwork timely and completely

Requirements

• Master's degree in Political Science or a related qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university OR Master's degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Political Science or a related qualifying field

Qualifications

• Master's degree in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university, or a Master's degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in discipline or a qualifying field

Nice to Have

• Doctoral degree in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university
• Three years of Community College teaching experience
