Teach and facilitate classes covering the Autodesk suite of software, including AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Civil 3D, and Navisworks, as an adjunct faculty member for Aims Community College.
Responsibilities
- Conduct teaching assignments and co-curricular college activities consistent with the philosophy and purpose of Aims Community College
- Facilitate classes covering the Autodesk suite of software (AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Architecture, Navisworks)
- Prepare and distribute syllabi with course requirements, grading, testing, and absence policies
- Prepare, administer, and grade assignments and examinations in a timely manner
- Submit relevant student data to the Chairperson regularly
- Follow procedures for requesting instructional supplies, textbook requisitions, and absence reports
- Complete and document project requests/worksheets for class projects
- Coordinate and supervise teaching and lab activities, including cooperative education components
- Use current technology to enhance institutional effectiveness and learn new technologies for learning enhancement
- Participate in assessment, implementation, and evaluation measures as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (engineering, construction, etc.) + 2,000 hours of industry experience (including relevant software) + portfolio OR
- Associate degree in a relevant field (CAD, engineering technology, construction, etc.) + 4,000 hours of industry experience (including relevant software) + portfolio OR
- Software specific certification (Solidworks professional certification, etc.) + portfolio + 4,000 hours of industry experience
- Industry experience in the last 10 years
- Hold or qualify for a post-secondary vocational credential in applicable related fields issued by Aims Community College CTE Office
- Knowledge of relevant CAD software
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (engineering, construction, etc.) OR Associate degree in a relevant field (CAD, engineering technology, construction, etc.) OR Software specific certification (Solidworks professional certification, etc.)
- 2,000 to 4,000 hours of industry experience, with specific software experience, depending on education level, in the last 10 years
