Adjunct Community Health Worker Instructor

About This Role

Instruct and facilitate student learning, primarily delivering the Michigan Community Health Worker Alliance curriculum, for Muskegon Community College.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Michigan Community Health Worker Alliance curriculum
• Evaluate each segment of the curriculum
• Work with the Internship Coordinator to ensure meaningful educational experiences for students
• Be on site and available during 100% of classroom teaching time
• Delegate classroom responsibilities to guest speakers as needed for enhanced student learning
• Teach assigned courses, which may include day, night, and online courses at various locations
• Establish and promote an effective learning environment that maximizes documented student learning
• Prepare, submit and maintain reports related to student learning
• Grade assignments in a meaningful way to promote continued student growth, timely returning graded assignments, and assigning final grades
• Provide educational assistance to students during scheduled office hours or by appointment

Requirements

• Completed training and meet requirements for the Michigan Community Health Worker Alliance
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in public health
• Ability to develop and use instructional technology
• Ability to implement interactive teaching strategies in the classroom and evaluate student learning outcomes
• Detailed-oriented, well-organized, and able to deal effectively with college staff at all levels
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
• Demonstrated ability to work with various populations representing a wide range of abilities, ages, nationalities, and cultures
• Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both written and oral

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in public health
