About This Role

This Adjunct Anthropology position is responsible for teaching and curriculum development within the Anthropology department, ensuring students receive quality instruction and a relevant course experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and develop curriculum for Anthropology courses
  • Prepare and provide students with course outlines that support learning objectives
  • Develop and measure learning outcomes for courses
  • Assess student performance and maintain grade records
  • Create an effective learning environment using various instructional methods
  • Collaborate in the development and continued assessment of learning outcomes for program reviews and curriculum revision
  • Participate in appropriate professional development activities to maintain currency in both discipline knowledge and instructional methods
  • Participate in department/discipline, division, campus, and college meetings and committees
  • Participate in college projects, surveys, studies, and reports related to the discipline or program
  • Collaborate in the development of program and/or discipline promotional materials

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Anthropology or related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in the teaching area
  • Strong communication skills
  • Post-secondary teaching experience
  • Work experience in the discipline to be taught
  • Knowledge of industry-related software and systems (where appropriate)
