Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse - RN

About This Role

This role is for an Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse responsible for providing and coordinating clinically competent care to assigned patients. The nurse will perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care, and participate in decision-making and quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Educator, Preceptor, or in collaboration with another Registered Nurse
• Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre, during, and post treatment for assigned patients and document in the patient medical record
• Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family’s basic learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education
• Recognize aspects and implications of patient status that vary from normal and report or collaborate with appropriate health team members for input
• Direct and provide safe effective patient care for assigned patients as prescribed for all modality specific treatment procedures
• Assess daily assigned patient care needs and collaborate with direct and ancillary patient care staff as needed
• Initiate and coordinate communication with FKC and Non-FKC dialysis providers and appropriate contracted facility personnel as needed
• Perform the implementation, administration, monitoring, and documentation of patient's response to prescribed intradialytic transfusions
• Administer medications as prescribed and document medical justification and effectiveness
• Initiate and assist with emergency response measures

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a RN
• Current appropriate state RN licensure
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
• Meet practice requirements in all states employed

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years or more of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last 2 years as a RN.
