Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Neurocritical Care

About This Role

This role is for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in Neurocritical Care, working nights. The role involves collaboratively managing hospitalized patients, providing primary and urgent medical care, and contributing to medical education.

Responsibilities

• Work in a collaborative model with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to care for hospital medicine patients
• Assume responsibility for primary and urgent medical management of critically ill patients
• Provide emergency stabilization for all critically ill patients
• Provide education to residents and medical students
• Contribute to staff development and education
• Educate patients and assist with discharge planning
• Utilize approved medical practices processes in patient care delivery
• Provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria

Requirements

• Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols at a department and campus/system level
• Reliable transportation to travel throughout and between facilities

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing
