This role involves working in a collaborative healthcare model to provide primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization for critically ill patients, and education for residents, medical students, staff, and patients within a hospital medicine setting.
Responsibilities
- Work in a collaborative model with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to care for hospital medicine patients
- Assume responsibility for primary and urgent medical management
- Perform emergency stabilization of critically ill patients
- Provide teaching to residents and medical students
- Contribute to staff development and education
- Provide patient education and discharge planning
- Utilize approved medical practices processes in patient care delivery
- Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served
Requirements
- Master’s or Doctorate degree as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse OR Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols
- Reliable transportation (must be able to travel throughout and between facilities)
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse OR Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program
- 0 years required, 3 years related experience preferred
