Conduct assessments and establish recreational therapy treatment goals for patients, evaluate their progress, and coordinate therapeutic activities to encourage socialization and provide information on leisure lifestyles.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessment and establish recreational therapy treatment goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of patients
- Evaluate each patient's progress and the effectiveness of recreational therapy interventions
- Coordinate therapeutic activities for both large and small groups to observe patient response and encourage socialization
- Provide patient and patient's family with information regarding leisure life styles and create an awareness of resources in their community
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy
- Current Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) in the state of Ohio
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgement
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
