About This Role

Conduct assessments and establish recreational therapy treatment goals for patients, evaluate their progress, and coordinate therapeutic activities to encourage socialization and provide information on leisure lifestyles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessment and establish recreational therapy treatment goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of patients
• Evaluate each patient's progress and the effectiveness of recreational therapy interventions
• Coordinate therapeutic activities for both large and small groups to observe patient response and encourage socialization
• Provide patient and patient's family with information regarding leisure life styles and create an awareness of resources in their community

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy
• Current Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) in the state of Ohio
• Critical thinking skills
• Decisive judgement
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
