Accountant

About This Role

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting timely monthly and annual financial reporting at Erie Home. This role performs general ledger accounting, prepares journal entries and reconciliations, and supports audits and tax filings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with company policy and GAAP
• Maintain the general ledger and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations including bank, balance sheet, and subledger accounts
• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules including balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss reports
• Perform cost accounting activities and monitor assigned accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper classification
• Manage subledger schedules such as fixed assets, leases, prepaids, and other assigned schedules
• Support month-end close activities including reconciliations, variance analysis, and issue resolution
• Provide audit and compliance support by compiling documentation and responding to internal and external audit requests

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience

• Proficiency with ERP and accounting systems (NetSuite preferred)

• Experience supporting audits and/or tax filings
• Experience with Cost Accounting
• CPA or CPA track
