About This Role

This Accountant role at Modern-Amenities HoldCo will lead the financial operations for a rapidly expanding holding company, overseeing bookkeeping, managing full-cycle accounting, and leading month-end close processes. The position offers significant autonomy to build scalable financial infrastructure and improve processes across multiple entities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and review work from external bookkeeper, ensuring accurate transaction coding and error detection across multiple entities
  • Serve as the quality control layer between day-to-day bookkeeping and executive financial reporting
  • Own the complete Accounts Payable (AP) cycle: invoice processing, vendor management, and bill pay across all entities
  • Own the complete Accounts Receivable (AR) cycle: invoicing, collections, and customer inquiries
  • Manage intercompany accounting across the holding company structure, ensuring proper eliminations and accurate consolidated reporting
  • Lead month-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
  • Prepare timely, accurate financial statements for each operating entity and consolidated HoldCo reports
  • Collaborate with fractional CFO on management reporting and ad-hoc financial analysis
  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements within accounting processes
  • Build scalable accounting processes to support continued company growth
  • Enhance QuickBooks Online infrastructure to support multi-entity operations

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in dynamic or multi-entity environments
  • QuickBooks Online proficiency (able to train others)
  • Demonstrated experience with intercompany transactions and multi-entity accounting
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of processes end-to-end
  • Strong attention to detail with an investigative mindset
  • Self-starter mentality with ability to thrive in an environment where processes are still being built

Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in dynamic or multi-entity environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a growth-stage company or building/improving accounting processes from scratch
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Experience supervising bookkeepers or junior accounting staff
  • Familiarity with process documentation and internal controls
  • Growth mindset with aspirations of becoming a Controller as the company scales
