About This Role

This role will lead the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive beginning farmer training program at the West Side Research and Extension Center (WSREC) for the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources. The Coordinator will manage strategic planning, partner engagement, and curriculum development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive beginning farmer training program at the West Side Research and Extension Center (WSREC)
  • Coordinate strategic planning, partner engagement, curriculum development, and infrastructure setup
  • Work collaboratively with UC ANR programs, community-based organizations, and regional partners to develop a multi-year training program
  • Support farmworkers and aspiring farmers in gaining knowledge, skills, land access, and business tools for independent farm operations
  • Conduct feasibility assessments and manage budgets
  • Oversee bilingual outreach and training delivery
  • Supervise staff and build partnerships for land access and value-added opportunities
  • Evaluate program impact
