Wound Program Coordinator

About This Role

This role involves coordinating wound care services to meet regulatory standards and physician orders, guiding clinical teams on treatment, and educating staff, patients, and families on wound care topics. The coordinator will maintain continuous education to stay updated on the latest techniques and advancements in wound care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and develop wound care services in adherence to regulatory standards and physician orders
• Collaborate with clinical teams to provide guidance on wound care treatments
• Lead educational efforts for hospital staff on wound care topics
• Educate patient and family members on wounds and wound care
• Maintain continuous education and stay updated on the latest wound care techniques and advancements

Requirements

• RN, Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist license (for acute rehab hospitals)
• RN license (for long-term acute care hospitals)
• CPR certification
• Minimum one year of wound care experience
• Continuous education in wound care through seminars or professional organizations
• Effective communication skills
• Decision-making skills
• Ability to work autonomously

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of wound care experience is required.
