Water Treatment Operator-in-Training or Class 1

About This Role

Join a collaborative team ensuring seamless and safe operations for municipal clients as an Operator-in-Training or Class 1. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining a water treatment plant, performing equipment maintenance, and conducting quality control testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water treatment plant
• Maintain equipment and perform quality control testing
• Contribute to the success of the program with efficient preventive maintenance
• Provide effective solutions to challenges in municipal facilities
• Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water
• Follow State and Federal rules for drinking water
• Observe variations in operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readings
• Collect samples, maintain shift logs, and perform other duties as required
• Ensure the safety, health and well-being of yourself and your team

Requirements

• Basic understanding of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to enter data into a maintenance management system
• A valid driver’s license with no major infractions
• HS Diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

• A current, or working towards obtaining a first level water/wastewater treatment certification
• Basic familiarity of the principles and practices of water/wastewater treatment plant operations, valves, pumps, and motors
• Safe work practices
