Warehouse Shipper

About This Role

This role is responsible for the efficient receiving, storing, and distributing of materials and products within the company's warehouse and plant facilities. The Shipper ensures accurate record-keeping and safe handling of all goods.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks using various equipment like forklifts and hand trucks, and move materials
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via computer system
• Verify accuracy of received goods against orders placed
• Sort goods to determine their final destination
• Deliver goods to plants using forklifts, hand trucks, and other methods
• Stock shelves and store merchandise or material in designated warehouse locations
• Pack or wrap merchandise for storage
• Conduct physical inventory counts
• Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for personnel
• Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods
• Dispose of hazardous and controlled wastes appropriately

Requirements

• Ability to work in a production environment
• Ability to read and comprehend English
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 25lbs continuously
• Ability to read, write and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and vendors
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
• Ability to use Microsoft Office applications
• Compliance with company and departmental policies and procedures, including attendance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• 1 to 3 months of training or experience

Nice to Have

• OSHA forklift certification
