About This Role

Lead the creative vision and execution for Bon Appétit and Epicurious video series, translating food stories into compelling, performance-driven digital content. This role involves directing shoots and overseeing post-production to maximize audience engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as creative lead for assigned Bon Appétit and Epicurious series, owning visual and narrative execution from development through final delivery
  • Lead shoots as the director, managing crews, talent, and production workflows
  • Collaborate with Creative Producers and Associate Producers to develop treatments for existing and new formats
  • Maintain deep understanding of series tags, tone, pacing, and audience expectations to ensure quality and relevance
  • Oversee post-production by scripting edits, reviewing cuts, providing clear notes, and ensuring final videos meet goals
  • Rigorously research food topics, culinary talent, and experts for accuracy and credibility
  • Direct and work effectively with on-camera talent, helping them feel confident and authentic
  • Track and understand content performance, using insights to refine creative decisions
  • Monitor competitive food and lifestyle content to stay ahead of trends and identify innovation opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners on sponsored content, ensuring organic and effective integrations

Requirements

  • 3+ years directing and producing digital video in food, lifestyle, or editorial content
  • Demonstrated track record in creative execution
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced production environment
  • Experience overseeing full production lifecycle, including development, production, and post-production

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3+ years directing and producing digital video, preferably in food, lifestyle, or editorial content

  • Mastery of YouTube video direction principles, including hook construction and retention-driven editing
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to manage crews and guide talent on set
