Vice President, Independent Marketing Organization Channel

About This Role

Lead and expand Symetra's presence in the Independent Marketing Organization (IMO) channel by building partnerships, negotiating agreements, and leading a sales team to drive significant sales within the Retirement Division.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team dedicated to expanding IMO partnerships into broader distribution
• Negotiate and secure selling agreements with key IMO partners
• Partner with internal stakeholders to champion IMO channel buildout
• Provide leadership and guidance to the IMO sales team
• Represent Symetra in the IMO marketplace

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Undergraduate degree
• 20+ years relevant work experience in insurance/financial services
• 7-10+ years sales and marketing leadership experience
• Strong knowledge and track record of success within Independent distribution channel
• Current relationships within the IMO channel
• Demonstrated success in building sales and distribution
• Strong knowledge of registered investment products, annuity products
• Ability to recruit and retain top selling talent
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
• Experienced public speaker; strong presentation skills
• Ability to drive significant sales and service initiatives
• Ability to develop and execute organizational strategies
• Experience driving Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies
• Life Insurance License
• FINRA Series 6, 63 or 66, 26 or 24 and state life licenses required within 6 months of hire

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree or industry designations e.g. CFP preferred.
• Minimum 20 years relevant work experience in the insurance and/or financial services industry with a track record of increased responsibilities and success. Minimum 7-10 years' sales and marketing leadership experience.
