About This Role

Provide direct support to veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, ensuring compassionate patient care and exceptional service within a community veterinary clinic setting. This role involves assisting with examinations, treatments, medications, maintaining equipment, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate care to all patients, including greeting and triaging upon arrival
  • Assist doctors and technicians with administering medications and patient restraint
  • Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs as needed
  • Operate and maintain hospital equipment such as EKG and anesthetic machines
  • Fill prescriptions, calculate and administer medications, and maintain drug documentation
  • Feed patients as prescribed, record appetites, and report unusual conditions
  • Communicate positively with clients and educate them about wellness and medicinal plans
  • Maintain hospital cleanliness, including equipment, kennels, and facilities
  • Bathe and care for overnight patients, ensuring proper grooming prior to release
  • Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to safety regulations
  • Promote hospital products and services, and support the organization

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years' experience in a veterinary environment successfully performing duties of this position

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years' experience in a veterinary environment, or equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
