Veterinary Assistant

About This Role

Assist veterinarians in providing comprehensive care to small animals, including patient triage, diagnostic imaging, and surgical assistance, ensuring effective communication with clients and proper animal handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform pet restraint and triage incoming patients.
• Collect and analyze lab samples.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging.
• Manage and provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
• Administer medications as directed.
• Communicate treatment plans effectively with clients.
• Prepare for and assist in surgical procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia during procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Compassionate, calm, and a team player.
• Strong communicator and multi-tasker.
• Ability to properly restrain pets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Self-starter with a desire to advance knowledge and skillset.
