The UX Research Assistant will establish and manage a research program to conduct weekly interviews with students and staff. This role ensures product decisions are informed by user needs and experiences to support BYU-Pathway Worldwide's diverse student body.
Responsibilities
- Apply core principles from Continuous Discovery Habits to create a sustainable, repeatable research program
- Recruit and interview students and staff (remote and occasional in-person)
- Observe product usage and identify usability issues
- Synthesize findings into clear insights and improvement ideas
- Document the research approach and create handoff materials
Requirements
- Current student at BYU, BYU-Idaho, BYU-Pathway, or Ensign College
- Strong written and spoken English
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
- Interest in UX, product, design, or information systems
- Comfortable with Zoom/Teams and basic docs/spreadsheets
- Must reside in Utah or Idaho
Qualifications
- Current student at BYU, BYU-Idaho, BYU-Pathway, or Ensign College
Nice to Have
- Experience with interviews or usability testing
- Coursework in UX, HCI, information systems, communications, or related fields
