Custodian 1

About This Role

This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and splendor of Church Headquarters facilities, ensuring an uplifting atmosphere for employees and visitors. The Custodian 1 will primarily sanitize public areas, offices, and restrooms, as well as perform various cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize public areas, offices, and restrooms daily or as instructed
• Dust or polish furnishings, light fixtures, windowsills, wood paneling
• Spot clean carpets, rugs and upholstery, restock supplies, remove leaves or snow, and dispose of trash and waste materials
• Attend meetings and trainings to increase knowledge and abilities
• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment (vacuums, buffers, scrubbers, sweepers, extraction equipment)
• Perform emergency cleanups including floods, bodily fluids, and spills
• Report safety or security issues and needed repairs

Requirements

• Ability to independently lift and position objects weighing as much as 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods
• Ability to handle basic issues and solve problems professionally
• Ability to work alone without constant supervision and strengthen teams
• Willingness to align with all regulations associated with the safe handling of chemicals and work in damp, dusty, and/or dirty areas
• Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate in English for video training, building security, and safety purposes
• Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy

Qualifications

• Previous experience or knowledge of custodial practices is welcomed but not required.
