The Utility Maintenance Mechanic plays a key role in executing assigned maintenance tasks, including full breakdowns and rebuilds of facility equipment as well as performing preventative maintenance on all facility equipment. This role ensures reliable operation of critical infrastructure supporting dairy production processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair facility utility systems including boilers, steam distribution networks, compressed air systems, and water treatment equipment
- Monitor and service refrigeration and ammonia cooling systems, including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and associated piping
- Perform maintenance on electrical distribution systems, lighting, emergency generators, and power transmission equipment
- Operate and maintain wastewater treatment systems, including biological treatment processes, clarifiers, and effluent monitoring equipment
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC systems, ventilation equipment, and building infrastructure
- Respond to emergency utility failures and equipment breakdowns on a 24/7 basis, performing immediate repairs and coordinating with external contractors
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience within the mechanical field
- Experience with programmable logic controllers, instruments, and controls
Qualifications
- GED or High School is preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience within the mechanical field
