About This Role

Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure projects involving water, gas, electric, or telecommunications to ensure they meet regulatory standards and stay on schedule and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, coordination, and execution of utility infrastructure projects such as water, sewer, gas, or electric systems
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, vendors, and municipal or regulatory agencies
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and permitting requirements
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, addressing issues that could impact scope, cost, or schedule
  • Communicate project updates to stakeholders and prepare documentation and reports
  • Supervise on-site activities, ensuring quality control and adherence to technical specifications
  • Manage emergency or unplanned utility work, ensuring rapid and efficient response

Requirements

  • Extensive utilities experience in water, sewer, gas, electric, or other utility infrastructure projects
  • Strong project management skills: budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management
  • Regulatory & compliance knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, DOT, DEP)
  • Technical competency in reading engineering drawings, utility plans, and specifications
  • Leadership and communication skills to direct field crews and contractors
  • Problem-solving mindset to anticipate and resolve challenges efficiently
  • Strong commitment to enforcing safety protocols on job sites
  • Adaptability and responsiveness in fast-moving and emergency utility environments

Qualifications

  • Extensive Utilities Experience: Has hands-on experience managing water, sewer, gas, electric, or other utility infrastructure projects, with a clear track record of delivering complex field work safely and efficiently.

Nice to Have

  • Experience using PM tools such as MS Project or Primavera
