As a Urology R&D Engineering Intern, you will meaningfully contribute to new product development for best-in-class capital systems and processes that support Boston Scientific's comprehensive portfolio of solutions. You will work on real-world problems in shaping the future of urology for patients and clinicians.
Responsibilities
- Contribute meaningfully to new product development, helping drive future products toward regulatory approval and commercial launch
- Support problem-solving efforts where analysis of data and situations requires a critical review of identifiable factors
- Summarize, analyze, and draw conclusions from test results; prepare reports and documentation for a technical audience
- Assist in troubleshooting product and process issues related to design, material, or process
- Translate customer needs into product requirements and design specifications
- Support concepts and designs for new products and processes; submit idea disclosures
- Train technicians/operators on new processes and/or test procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing, to ensure project success
Requirements
- Must graduate between Fall 2026 – Spring 2028
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 18th – August 7th OR May 26th – August 14th
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
- Must have reliable transportation to commute to and from Boston Scientific’s Global Headquarters in Marlborough, MA
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, graduating between Fall 2026 – Spring 2028
Nice to Have
- Prior experience as an employee or intern/co-op with Boston Scientific
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and innovating solutions
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in statistics
- Experience with SolidWorks
