Operate an end dump and/or belly dump truck to deliver various soils and aggregates for construction services. The role requires performing pre and post trip inspections, minor maintenance, and proper material handling.
Responsibilities
- Operate an end dump and/or belly dump (with and without pup trailers, and tamping systems) efficiently
- Deliver all types of soils, aggregates, and other materials to residential and commercial locations
- Make pre and post trip inspections of the truck
- Oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to the Truck
- Lift and move transported materials as needed
- Keep accurate time and material records
- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Communicate effectively on the radio system
- Connect and disconnect pup trailer
- Load and unload large quantities of water for compaction and/or dust control
- Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor
Requirements
- Thorough operational knowledge and skills of end dumps and/or belly dumps (with and without pups) and related equipment
- Class A CDL
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to keep time and material records
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
- Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates
- Maneuvering and backing skills with double and triple pup
- Ability to communicate effectively on the radio system
- Ability to connect and disconnect pup trailer
- Ability to lift and/or move from 10 to 30 lbs and climb, sit/drive, shift gears, cover/uncover loads, change wheels, adjust lugs, use hand tools
- Ability to load and unload large quantities of water for compaction and/or dust control
- Ability to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor
- Ability to communicate effectively and be a team player
