Safely operate a ready-mixed concrete truck to deliver materials to construction sites, ensuring customer satisfaction. Maintain the vehicle and complete necessary documentation while adhering to safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a ready-mix concrete truck to deliver to construction sites, obeying applicable laws and following dispatch instructions
- Maintain work area and vehicle in a clean and orderly condition
- Comply with all OSHA and USDOT/FMCSA safe-operating practices and use supplied PPE as directed
- Communicate with Dispatcher or Plant Manager regarding deliveries and check tickets for special instructions
- Climb 8-foot ladder to ensure proper materials are loaded and obtain proper signatures, handling 50-pound mixer chutes safely
- Maintain cleanliness of the truck, including rinsing the drum before and after deliveries
- Collect money from customers and record transactions, being able to read and write details on tickets
- Respond to customer questions related to basic product knowledge and concrete instruction
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and report maintenance issues
- Utilize tablet and computer skills, following GPS/map books
- Perform truck or plant maintenance, cleaning, sweeping, shoveling, or assorted yard work while maintaining a safe work environment
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year related experience or training
- Valid minimum Class B CDL
- Valid DOT medical card
- Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals)
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide two-digit numbers, American money, weight, volume, distance)
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to simple one- or two-step instructions
- Ability to read a receipt, write details on tickets, and record information
Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education or experience
