Concrete Ready Mix Truck Driver

About This Role

Safely operate a ready-mixed concrete truck to deliver materials to construction sites, ensuring customer satisfaction. Maintain the vehicle and complete necessary documentation while adhering to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a ready-mix concrete truck to deliver to construction sites, obeying applicable laws and following dispatch instructions
• Maintain work area and vehicle in a clean and orderly condition
• Comply with all OSHA and USDOT/FMCSA safe-operating practices and use supplied PPE as directed
• Communicate with Dispatcher or Plant Manager regarding deliveries and check tickets for special instructions
• Climb 8-foot ladder to ensure proper materials are loaded and obtain proper signatures, handling 50-pound mixer chutes safely
• Maintain cleanliness of the truck, including rinsing the drum before and after deliveries
• Collect money from customers and record transactions, being able to read and write details on tickets
• Respond to customer questions related to basic product knowledge and concrete instruction
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and report maintenance issues
• Utilize tablet and computer skills, following GPS/map books
• Perform truck or plant maintenance, cleaning, sweeping, shoveling, or assorted yard work while maintaining a safe work environment

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year related experience or training
• Valid minimum Class B CDL
• Valid DOT medical card
• Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals)
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations
• Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide two-digit numbers, American money, weight, volume, distance)
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to simple one- or two-step instructions
• Ability to read a receipt, write details on tickets, and record information

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education or experience
