Loader Operator

About This Role

Operate a variety of heavy equipment safely and efficiently for groundwork purposes, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights safely and efficiently
• Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment
• Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager
• Follow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor
• Perform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
• Perform general laboring duties when necessary
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance at assigned times

Requirements

• 1-2 years related experience operating heavy equipment
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction
• Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations and construction sites
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions
• Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Must be 18 years in age or older
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check

Qualifications

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of a diesel pump
• Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards
