About This Role

Seeking an Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Little Falls, MN, focusing on critical access care for diverse patient populations during night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a 10-bed Emergency Department with 2 trauma bays in an acute care setting
  • Provide care for patients of all ages, including newborn through geriatric, for respiratory, cardiac, trauma, and stroke cases
  • Manage patient assignments, typically 1:3 based on acuity
  • Perform competent triage skills in a separate triage room
  • Manage and de-escalate situations, utilizing local police for emergencies if needed
  • Draw blood samples and assist with patient transport to CT for all stroke activations
  • Initiate and manage respiratory equipment as needed with RT verbal assistance
  • Interpret cardiac strips independently using Phillips monitors
  • Work 12-hour night shifts, Friday through Sunday 1900-0700, with scheduling in 6-week blocks
  • Provide coverage every other weekend and every other holiday
  • Exhibit professional appearance and effective team communication
  • Attend orientation for up to 4 unit-specific shifts or until competency is achieved

Requirements

  • Active MN RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
  • Critical Access ED experience
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current TNCC certification
  • Current ENPC or PALS certification
  • Proven ability to work independently, learn quickly, and function without significant ancillary resources
  • Competent in triage skills
  • Ability to interpret telemetry independently

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience; Critical Access experience strongly preferred

Nice to Have

  • Experience with EPIC EMR
