About This Role

This role is responsible for overseeing dedicated fleet operations, ensuring maximum utilization of drivers and equipment while meeting customer expectations. This includes managing dispatch, supervising staff, and coordinating various operational and administrative tasks within the transportation sector.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day supervision to staff including coordinators, clerks, spotters, and drivers
  • Manage driver scheduling process and payroll data
  • Coordinate load completions and data entry into TMW
  • Coordinate with managers on the customer invoicing process and reconcile common carrier invoice and approvals
  • Ensure equipment is utilized in the most efficient manner
  • Coordinate the maintenance of equipment with management and fleet
  • Draft and submit daily end of shift report
  • Make recommendations to management on initiatives and programs to improve operations
  • Communicate daily with coordinators and drivers regarding service issues, workload forecasting, and pertinent company information
  • Assist in developing and implementing training and motivation programs for personnel
  • Manage and maintain human resources practices with direct reports, adhering to corporate policies
  • Work with Management and Human Resources to resolve employee relation issues, discipline actions, and problem resolution
  • Provide feedback, coaching, guidance, and recognition to enhance personnel’s skill development
  • Ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the work area to meet service standards
  • Support all safety programs and OSHA/DOT compliance to ensure a safe work environment
  • Follow documented processes for reporting, analyzing, and following up on employee injuries and accidents
  • Ensure employees complete a daily pre/post-trip and review daily

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-5 years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of transportation / mechanical equipment
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations and the willingness to become certified
  • Excellent talent management and team building skills
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills specifically with external clients
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field, or High School Diploma
  • 1-5 years of supervisory experience

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field
  • Experience with TMW and People Net
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
