Transportation Planning Specialist

About This Role

The Transportation Planning Specialist assists in preparing various transportation planning documents, including trip generation estimates, roadway volume development, and traffic operational analyses. This role involves analyzing field data, obtaining demographic information, and utilizing engineering and design software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare trip generation estimates, roadway volume development, parking estimates, and analyses for projects
• Assist in the analysis of field data, reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs to plan projects
• Obtain, analyze, and interpret demographic and other regional transportation planning data
• Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and planning documents
• Assist in the preparation or modification of planning documents, including transportation impact studies and traffic operational analyses
• Assist in the collection of field data
• Serve as onsite project representative
• Use of planning software and equipment to prepare engineering, design, and planning documents
• Responsible for job-specific quality system tasks

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related fields
• Aptitude for detail-oriented work assignments
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to work on multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Driver’s License

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related fields
• Up to 5 years of experience; entry-level position

Nice to Have

• Engineer in Training Certification
• Experience utilizing Synchro, SimTraffic, Excel
• Experience utilizing AutoCAD/MicroStation
• Experience with preparing traffic and parking studies in Pennsylvania
