Transmission & Distribution Engineer Intern

About This Role

This internship, with a target start date in summer 2026, involves working on a project team within the Grid business unit, assisting engineers with the design of new and modified transmission and distribution engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs
• Work on project reporting, tracking and evaluating project activities, progress, and associated data
• Be involved in power designs and the preparation of documents and specifications for major equipment, structures, and installation services

Requirements

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• Expected graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027
• Strong academic background
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction
• Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or other engineering degrees with relevant coursework

Nice to Have

• Enrollment in a BS or MS ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program
• Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA
• Prior, related internship or co-op experience in our business area
