Manage and lead the overall Learning and Development function for the plant, including developing training schedules, standardizing processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and close performance gaps.
Responsibilities
- Manage the plant’s overall Learning and Development function
- Develop, standardize, and implement plant learning and development processes and procedures
- Collaborate with Department Managers and extended team members to identify training needs and support business objectives
- Conduct plant-wide Training Needs Assessments considering strategic priorities and regulatory needs
- Maintain knowledge of company, market, products, and industry to design effective training programs
- Lead cross-functional teams to achieve training goals and improve performance
- Develop product content for training initiatives and revise existing materials
- Provide input and/or develop product, position, and department specific training
- Develop and execute evaluation strategies for training deliverables and conduct training as required
- Serve as project manager for coordination, planning, and implementation of plant-wide training initiatives
- Maintain annual training plan/calendar and ensure delivery of new employee orientation
- Develop and deliver on-the-job training programs for new hires
- Maintain the Carlex Learning Management System and evaluate online training courses
- Assess instructor performance and course effectiveness, providing recommendations for improvement
- Track, monitor, and report workforce training metrics and analyze training needs
- Develop and maintain the one- to three-year Carlex strategic learning and development plan
- Develop training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other instructional materials
- Plan, develop, and provide trainer development programs, including Train-The-Trainer workshops
- Review and evaluate training programs for compliance with government standards
- Develop business relationships with and collaborate with approved external learning providers
- Prepare individual development/learning plans and measure ROI of training programs
- Develop and implement a Management Training program, including conducting courses
- Collaborate with Human Resources/Plant Leadership on succession planning strategy
- Manage, guide, and coach Learning and Development team members
- Identify and collaborate with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and develop training courses
Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience in training and development
- Minimum of two years in a supervisory position
- Ability to relate to staff at all levels
- Ability to encourage and motivate people
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to plan ahead and manage individual and team’s time
- Excellent Presentation skills
- Effective negotiating skills
- Ability to write reports, keep records and work within planned budgets
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent computer skills (Windows environment)
- Basic human resources knowledge

Qualifications
- BS or BA in Instructional Design, Instructional or Educational Technology, Education, Communications, Human Resources, or other related discipline
- Minimum of two years’ experience in training and development and two years in a supervisory position
