The Therapy Aide assists therapists in providing exceptional and compassionate care to patients with various medical conditions at OhioHealth Rehabilitation Hospital. This role involves patient-related tasks, transfers, and equipment setup to support rehabilitation efforts.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient-related tasks as assigned by therapists
- Lift patients to and from mats, treatment tables, wheelchairs, and other equipment
- Assist patients with transfer activities to all surfaces
- Assist patients in donning and doffing all appliances
- Position patients in parallel bars and prepare patients for standing with appropriate devices and equipment
- Transport patients to and from therapy as needed
- Assist therapist with other patient-related treatment activities and equipment setup
- Assist with patient-related activities including equipment set-up and patient positioning in preparation for therapy session
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- One or more years of hospital experience as a therapy aide preferred
