Provide exceptional and compassionate physical therapy care to patients in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting, focusing on individuals with various injuries and disorders. This role involves assessing patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and contributing to continuous quality improvement.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment
- Promote continuous quality improvement
- Teach and counsel patients/families regarding their treatment and recovery
- Set goals and develop individualized treatment plans
- Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs
- Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient/family education, and adaptive equipment
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and PT/PTA students
- Conduct individual patient therapy regimens
- Monitor patient's response to treatment and modify treatment during sessions as needed
- Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures
- Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
- Certified BLS or obtain within 90 days of employment
