This role involves developing the Los Angeles region by driving revenue through subcontractors, assisting architects in specification stages, and engaging general contractors on bid opportunities for architectural products. It serves as the primary link between the design community and construction professionals.
Responsibilities
- Secure project orders and manage the purchasing phase of the sales cycle at the subcontractor level
- Review project plans for bid opportunities and collaborate with manufacturers to provide accurate, timely quotes
- Coordinate orders and manage submittal timelines to align product delivery with construction schedules
- Meet regularly with architects and specifiers to ensure represented products are included in project designs
- Deliver presentations to the design community to provide updates on product performance and industry standards
- Partner with General Contractors for project alignment and to secure brand awareness and trust
- Maintain a consistent field schedule of 3–4 days per week to support customer relationships and provide on-site technical assistance
- Conduct field visits and site inspections to ensure successful product application and address technical challenges
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience in architectural or technical sales (preferred)
- Proficiency in reading architectural plans and understanding technical specifications
- Strong oral and written communication skills with a focus on professional responsiveness
- A disciplined approach to field-based work
- Service-oriented mentality
Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (for emerging professionals)
- Minimum of one year of experience in architectural or technical sales is preferred, or previous sales/internship experience for recent graduates.
Nice to Have
- Experience selling exterior building products (facades, roofing, or cladding)
- Track record of calling on design firms and securing product specifications
- Experience as a Project Coordinator, Engineer, or Sales staff within a commercial subcontractor or general contractor firm
- Previous sales or internship experience for recent graduates with relevant degrees
