Temporary Lead Sales Associate

About This Role

Provide outstanding customer and donor service in a retail store setting. Oversee basic store operations in the absence of management and assist customers with transactions and product selection.

Responsibilities

• Oversee basic store operations in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager, including making bank deposits
• Ensure store staff deliver customer service according to defined procedures
• Provide guidance to staff on sales questions or issues
• Greet store customers and offer assistance in making product selections
• Ring up sales on cash register, following cash handling procedures
• Perform defined store opening/closing procedures
• Place and display inventory on sales floor, ensuring a neat and safe work environment
• Assist with stock rotation and markdowns
• Prepare store donations and rotated merchandise for transfer
• Communicate problems, complaints, potential theft and/or safety issues to the Store Manager or designee

Requirements

• Six months previous sales associate experience or equivalent
• Basic math ability
• Familiarity with electronic cash registers
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Six month previous sales associate experience or equivalent.

Nice to Have

• Valid California class C driver license (depending on position)
• Familiarity with Goodwill Central Coast’s mission and retail policies
• Ability to communicate in basic Spanish
