Sales Associate

About This Role

This role supports the operation of a retail store primarily through customer service, sales transactions, and merchandising. The Sales Associate ensures a welcoming environment for donors and customers while contributing to store sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and customers and offer assistance with product selections
• Handle cash and accurately complete customer transactions using the cash register system
• Assist with store opening and closing procedures
• Merchandise inventory on the sales floor, ensuring items are neat, appealing, and safe
• Assist with stock rotation and markdowns as directed
• Prepare donations and rotated merchandise for transfer to the central processing plant
• Communicate problems, complaints, potential theft, and safety issues to management
• Perform daily sanitizing duties for store and donation locations

Requirements

• Basic math ability
• Ability to communicate in basic oral and written English
• Ability to maintain self-control and deal effectively with the public

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• None; previous sales experience preferred.
