Teller

About This Role

As a Teller, you will be the primary contact for clients, ensuring accurate and confidential banking transactions while delivering exceptional customer service. You will also uncover client needs to offer suitable bank products and services, acting as a crucial link in maintaining and enhancing client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Perform teller transactions and cash handling functions for clients with accuracy and confidentiality, including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing, and balancing cash drawer
• Perform and support daily tasks that maintain the branch's integrity, such as balancing the ATM, processing night drop deposits, balancing negotiable instruments, and processing returned mail
• Mitigate risk by ensuring the safekeeping of money in the cash drawer and prompt accounting or transfer of funds
• Interact with external and internal clients, anticipating needs and consistently providing proactive solutions and problem resolutions in line with the bank’s service standards
• Continuously deepen knowledge of Columbia Bank's product and service offerings and stay current on changes
• Discuss and uncover customer’s financial needs to identify and offer appropriate products and services
• Support referral goals for the branch by identifying and referring basic bank products to the appropriate business partner

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to learn and comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and systems
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with written numbers, words, and verbal and written instructions
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to build relationships with clients and other bank associates

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of previous banking or customer service experience, preferred.
