Telemetry Technician

About This Role

This Telemetry Technician position is responsible for continuous monitoring of EKG alarms, verifying rhythm identification, and ensuring timely and appropriate responses to critical cardiac events. This role is crucial in providing compassionate, excellent care to chronic, critically ill patients in a critical illness recovery hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Continuously watch and ensure appropriate and timely responses to alarms
• Verify correct identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifact
• Maintain EKG monitor alarms and respond to all alarms as needed
• Continuously observe all monitors assigned and respond to alarms promptly and appropriately
• Complete EKG interpretations including: rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, wave form alterations, and rhythm interpretation
• Ensure strip interpretations are validated by a Registered Nurse

Requirements

• Ability to complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs within 30 days of start date
• Ability to pass required competencies on education platform within 30 days of start date

Nice to Have

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) background
• Licensed Paramedic background
• RN nursing student with EKG training
