Lead telecommunications systems design and documentation for advanced facilities within the semiconductor industry. Collaborate with architects and other engineers to produce complex design packages and support the evolving needs of clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead telecommunications systems design services and documentation for advanced facilities
- Lead as a telecom discipline lead and work with supporting design staff to produce complex design packages
- Coordinate with architects and other discipline engineers/design leads
- Interface directly with team members and clients on-site in Hillsboro, Oregon
- Design structured cabling infrastructure from Outside Plant to inter/intra-building backbone distribution systems
- Develop communication room layouts, rack elevations, wired & wireless device plans
- Complete designs and calculations in accordance with NEC, TIA, and other industry standards
- Manage design and construction specifications
- Provide quality assurance (QA) and checking for telecommunications systems designed by others
Requirements
- Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- BICSI or RCDD credential
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in telecommunications design and construction industry
- Deep knowledge and application of NFPA 70 (NEC) as applicable to telecommunications design requirements
- Deep knowledge and application of telecommunications industry association (TIA) standards
- Experience leading a team of 5-10 telecommunications design staff
- Experience editing design and construction specifications
- Experience with start-up and commissioning of telecommunications systems
- Experience estimating and scheduling design efforts for multi-building projects with multiple phases
- Experience in providing quality assurance (QA) and checking telecommunications systems designed by others
- Proficiency with Bluebeam
- Strong communication skills
Qualifications
- Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in telecommunications design and construction industry
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Design management experience
- Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms
- Design experience in semiconductor, data center or other high-tech facilities
- Knowledge and design experience with wireless local area network (WLAN), paging, intercom
- Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for control systems
- Familiarity with Navisworks
