This role involves providing detailed technical training on Prima PRO and SOLA iQ process mass spectrometry platforms to customers, field service engineers, and internal teams. The specialist will enable users to efficiently operate, maintain, and troubleshoot these systems, reducing downtime and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific professionally in all customer-facing and internal interactions
- Conduct training sessions in person and online on Prima PRO and SOLA iQ solutions for various audiences
- Facilitate hands-on instrument training covering operations, configuration, calibration, diagnostics, and maintenance
- Instruct users on interpreting analytical data, applying guidelines, and performing troubleshooting
- Serve as an expert on Prima PRO and SOLA iQ technology, supporting field service engineers and service colleagues
- Develop and continuously improve training materials including presentations, manuals, guides, and videos
- Collaborate with R&D, product management, and engineering to integrate new software features and updates into training
- Collect learner insights, measure training efficiency, and drive continuous improvements
- Maintain training schedules, trainee records, certification logs, and documentation
- Support commercial teams by demonstrating product capabilities and addressing technical questions
- Apply Practical Process Improvement (PPI) concepts to enhance training workflows and effectiveness
- Provide support to departments like field service, technical support, and new product rollouts
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation, Analytical Sciences, or a related technical field
- Experience with analytical instrumentation, process mass spectrometers, gas analysis systems, or similar technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to engage diverse audiences
- Strong technical curiosity and capability to grasp complex analytical ideas
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to build structured, user-friendly training materials and technical documentation
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to balance multiple training schedules and priorities
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 60% per year
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation, Analytical Sciences, or a related technical field.
- Experience with analytical instrumentation, process mass spectrometers, gas analysis systems, or similar technologies. Prior experience in technical training, field service, application support, technical assistance, or engineering is preferred. Over one year of field service involvement with process mass spectrometers will be an advantage. Experience with, maintaining, or diagnosing Prima PRO, SOLA iQ, or comparable mass spectrometry systems will be preferred.
