Technical Services Specialist

About This Role

This role involves applying engineering principles to manage and coordinate distribution system projects, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to FPL requirements. The specialist will handle all aspects of engineering design, permitting, and cost management for new construction and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields.
• Act as a single point of contact for projects within the service territory.
• Communicate essential information about project scope until customer satisfaction is achieved.
• Be knowledgeable and proficient in the design of the Distribution System for new construction and maintenance.
• Perform work order assessment and complex designs to meet internal, external customer needs and FPL requirements.
• Coordinate planning, organization, and implementation of engineering projects with other operating or engineering units.
• Produce resource estimates, including work hours, materials, and work type, necessary for execution.
• Evaluate distribution system capability to serve new load, mitigating future impacts.
• Provide and maintain cost-effective design, considering customer impact and requests.
• Manage project aspects, including design, estimating, negotiations, performance tracking, and reporting.
• Responsible for all aspects of engineering design and permitting.
• Work with other departments to establish customer requirements and project costs.

Requirements

• US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
• Live within a drivable distance of West Palm Beach, FL
• Bachelor's Degree in related field of study or High School Diploma/GED and equivalent work experience
• 3+ years' experience in Distribution/Utility
• 3+ years' experience in customer interactions and negotiations
