About This Role

The Tech Ops Engineer Summer Intern will support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, process development, qualification, and equipment design within the Manufacturing Engineering NPI team at Johnson & Johnson, specifically for Surgical Robotics in MedTech. This role involves collaborating with engineering teams to develop and qualify manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical components and subassemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D engineering teams to design, develop, document, and qualify manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical components and subassemblies of a surgical robotics system.
  • Perform gap analysis for manufacturing and test procedures.
  • Write and execute process development protocols and reports.
  • Organize and submit process development samples for testing.
  • Collect, analyze, and report process data.
  • Collaborate with external and internal suppliers to support key projects.
  • Lead small technical projects and process changes.
  • Support local community through Credo inspired events and activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proof of legal authorization to work in the US
  • Transportation to and from work daily
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in projects or other activities
  • Highly organized with the ability to drive projects/tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize projects and tasks
  • Ability to work individually as well as on a team
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an accredited college/university
  • Completion of at least a first year of undergraduate academic program

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of tools such as DOE’s, Statistical Methods, CAD (Solid-works/Pro-E/AutoCAD), GD&T, Failure and Gap Analysis Techniques (Fault tree, Fish Bone Diagram)
  • Experience with commercial or pilot manufacturing lines and technical report writing
  • Robotics, AI, Data Science, programming background
  • Participation in campus/community service activities
