R&D Strategic Business Operations Intern

About This Role

This internship supports multiple optimization projects within Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine R&D, helping to transform business operations. The intern will gain exposure to project management, operational strategies, and cost-saving tactics within pharmaceutical R&D, contributing to the delivery of new medicines.

Responsibilities

• Support coordinating and overseeing various R&D projects, ensuring successful execution within timelines
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, track progress, and manage potential risks or issues
• Support developing and implementing strategic plans to optimize business operations
• Identify areas for improvement, streamline processes, and maximize operational efficiency
• Support managing budgets and allocating resources effectively for projects and operations
• Make budget recommendations, monitor expenses, and optimize resource allocation
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and collaboration
• Build relationships, manage expectations, and communicate project updates/progress effectively
• Support identification of opportunities for process improvement and innovation within R&D operations
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in an accredited University pursuing a bachelor’s degree for the duration of the Intern assignment
• Considered an undergraduate sophomore or above by start date
• Minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher
• Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the internship/co-op
• Ability to provide transportation to/from the work location
• Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science (Biology, Engineering, Business Management, etc.)
• Actively enrolled in an accredited University pursuing a bachelor's degree; considered an undergraduate sophomore or above by start date.
