Lead the night shift maintenance team to eliminate causes of failure and ensure equipment longevity in a food manufacturing plant. Oversee repair, maintenance, and installation activities while supporting production schedules and technical problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Eliminate all causes of failure and ensure full useful life in coordination with daily maintenance completed by operating personnel on the night shift
- Lead activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment
- Provide technical and problem solving support for the plant and maintenance crews
- Support and execute plant specific maintenance strategies to achieve Plant's key performance goals for overall maintenance performance
- Assure production schedules are met and all issues are resolved and communicated in a timely fashion
- Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards
- Review production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities
- Oversee all aspects of the maintenance department, production lines and affiliated equipment, building and grounds on night shift
- Schedule work and manpower to meet production demands, maintain the preventative maintenance system and work toward meeting or exceeding the plants safety and uptime goals
- Control maintenance expenses by monitoring overtime and parts expenses weekly
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3-5 years of previous maintenance experience
- Previous supervisory experience
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, blue prints, schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Knowledge and experience with Preventative Maintenance programs
- Knowledge of Electronic and Electrical principals
- Computer literate
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical engineering or other technical degree program preferred
- 3-5 years of previous maintenance experience, 3 years related experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with previous supervisory experience
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical engineering or other technical degree program
- CAD/Drafting experience
