Sr Engineer Packaging Systems

About This Role

Provide technical engineering expertise for packaging systems, focusing on case packing, forming, and closing, to improve asset utilization and technical maintenance at Lamb Weston.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering expertise for case packing, case forming, case closing, and packaging systems.
• Document, track, and direct technical maintenance of product distribution scales, bagging, casing, palletizing, and wrapping equipment.
• Develop and maintain technical, operational, and service documentation and best practices for manufacturing plants.
• Improve asset utilization of company packaging systems, specifically case packing and closing systems.
• Collaborate with plant operations, EHS, Food Protection, Continuous Improvement, engineering teams, and OEM vendors.
• Provide leadership in establishing safety and quality, and achieving zero foreign material.
• Actively improve asset utilization through elimination of unplanned mechanical downtime.
• Support the team in providing project and technical design when required.
• Assist and maintain technical documentation, best practices, drawings, and project documents.
• Monitor packaging system performance to identify and implement needed improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 8+ years of relevant experience
• 5+ years of related experience (with degree)
• Knowledge of case forming, case packing, and case closing systems
• Proficient using Microsoft Office suite, including MS Project
• Proficient using CAD systems
• Proficient using SAP
• Ability to read and understand basic electrical schematics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of related experience, or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice to Have

• Packaging equipment design and operation experience
• Excellent knowledge of food manufacturing processes, regulations, and requirements
• Knowledge of LW specific operations processes and programs
• Experience and knowledge of industrial plant construction, codes, practices, and engineering requirements
