Tax Manager - Real Estate

About This Role

This role is for a strategic federal tax professional with real estate experience to provide compliance and consulting services to clients in the real estate industry, focusing on complex federal tax issues and utilizing the latest tax technologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with life events for partnerships, computations, and Schedule K-1 processing
• Use proprietary technologies to streamline tax compliance processes
• Maintain and develop strong client relationships on federal tax consulting/compliance engagements
• Advise clients on a variety of tax issues, including REIT Qualification and Tax Reform impact
• Oversee complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects using technology and data analytics
• Manage engagement workflow, team resources, and billing
• Mentor and develop junior staff, providing leadership and career guidance

Requirements

• Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week
• 5+ years in corporate tax experience
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
• Solid understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, REIT taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, acquisition/disposition planning and structuring, and experience with federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research
• Strong managerial experience with budgets, people and projects

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
• 5+ years in corporate tax experience

Nice to Have

• Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
• Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience
