Advise clients on tax implications related to business objectives and specific partnership tax items. This role involves maintaining client relationships, participating in process improvement, and guiding team members within the STS Partnership Practice.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on tax implications of business objectives and partnership specific items (e.g., Section 704(b) allocations, capital account maintenance, liability analysis, TRA calculations)
- Apply knowledge to understand potential partnership taxation issues and assist in computations
- Actively participate in the development of the STS Partnership Practice leadership team
- Participate in process improvement and team-building initiatives
- Maintain client relationships and provide guidance to team members
- Develop an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues in partnership taxation
- Identify and research complex tax issues, providing research methodology
- Assist with developing and implementing methods to maximize client tax benefits
- Supervise and review work prepared by associates and senior associates
- Act as a career advisor and provide performance feedback to associates and senior associates
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of relevant tax/accounting/consulting experience
- Specialized partnership experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, preferred
- 5+ years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience
Nice to Have
- Master's in Accountancy or Taxation
- Prior supervisory experience
- Private equity experience (fund and portfolio company levels)
