Tax Manager

About This Role

This Tax Manager role is with an established public accounting firm, focusing on managing client relationships, overseeing complex tax engagements, supporting technical research, and guiding staff development.

Responsibilities

• Review individual, corporate (including complex 1120 and 1120‑S), partnership, and fiduciary tax returns
• Lead engagements involving high‑net‑worth individuals, closely held businesses, and multi‑entity structures
• Manage compliance and planning for clients with international tax considerations, including foreign reporting requirements and cross‑border structuring
• Assist the tax practice in resolving day‑to‑day technical tax issues
• Communicate with federal, state, and international tax authorities
• Conduct research on complex domestic and international tax matters
• Support tax planning initiatives for corporate, inbound and outbound international, and HNW clients
• Mentor and develop staff
• Participate in business development activities

Requirements

• 5+ years of recent public accounting experience with strong tax compliance and research background
• CPA required
• Demonstrated expertise in Corporate 1120 compliance, entity taxation, and multi‑state filings
• Experience working with international tax matters (e.g., GILTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, treaty analysis)
• Strong experience serving high‑net‑worth individuals, trusts, and pass‑through entities
• Excellent communication skills and professional presence
• Strong technical proficiency, preferably in a paperless environment
• High degree of accuracy, organization, and teamwork

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent public accounting experience with strong tax compliance and research background

• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods
• Ability to be in the office several days per week
